Car Cruise
Cars of every make and model seem to be represented at the Parker Road Baptist Church Car Cruise and Community Party. During one Saturday in May, car owners are invited to drive into the Parker Road lot to display their hard work on their cars.
“We want to attract people to our church property,” Jim McCaughan, minister of missions says, “who would never consider coming otherwise.”
McCaughan says the cruise and the party are free. “We do not charge a registration fee,” he says, “and we do not sell food and drink. We provide a barbequed pork steak meal and drink to all who attend.”
Parker Road members visit with car owners and help provide entertainment during the day with a Christian praise band, puppets and a strong-man demonstration.
McCaughan says the church provides event dash plaques to the first 100 car owners. For more information about the car cruise, call McCaughan at 831-6671.
