Missions

Parker Road Baptist Church has been steadily involved in missions for about the last forty years. Over time, the Lord has blessed as we have sent many missionaries to the field. Because of our involvement in missions and our forward looking desire to share the gospel of Jesus, the Lord opened the door for us to become a Global Priority Church.

Missions Giving
As a part of the Southern Baptist Convention, we give money to the Cooperative Program, which in turn, provides the needed money for the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB).

As a part of our commitment to missions, we give 10% of our annual budget to the Cooperative Program.

In addition to the Cooperative Program, we give 2.5% of our annual budget to Associational Missions. By cooperating with other churches in the St. Louis Metro Baptist Association, we are able to help start new churches, strengthen existing churches, provide training and education for members of area churches, provide social and ethnic ministries, and minister to college and university students.

We also help support a new mission in Cokeville, Wyoming. Additionally, we provide money and resources for "Good News in Action" in El Salvador, Central America.

Missions Involvement
Through the years we have taken many mission trips to various parts of the world. Both youth and adults, men and women, have traveled many places to share the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ, in word and in deed.

For the last five years, we have sent an increasingly larger team of missionaries to El Salvador, Central America. We work with the ministries of the Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva and "Good News in Action." The primary task is to share the GOSPEL by speaking with individuals one-on-one in the marketplaces and in their homes. Every year, God has blessed in tremendous ways, and we are seeing His hand move mightily across Central America.

Both adult and youth groups went to Cokeville, Wyoming for construction and renovation work on the building recently purchased by missionaries Terry and Erin Patton.

Adopted Missionaries & People Groups
As of 2001, Parker Road Baptist Church has fulfilled its Global Priority requirements by adopting several missionaries. We support these missionaries not only monetarily, but with our fervent prayers. The following is a list of missionaries we support.

Terry & Erin Patton - Cokeville, Wyoming
Roger Grossmann Family - Guatemala, Central America
Mark and M.J. Grossmann - Kenya, Africa
Gailyn Agar - Venezuela, South America
Missionaries in the 10-40 Window*
Missionary Couple in 10-40 Window*
Boyd Hall Family - Capetown, South Africa

The Sereer People are our adopted people group in Senegal, Africa. We partner with them in our prayers and missionary involvement to reach them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Beyond our adopted missionaries and people group, Jim McCaughan has served as Minister of Missions since 2000. His ministry helps to organize our church body as we reach out from our community to the ends of the earth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
